Hello dear ones,
Sending my love and a burst of creativity
from the lands of Mariposa.
Hope these poems singing of nature nourish you
And find you well in your place of shelter.
Love,
Melanie
Arriving to my new home
I write from
birds chirping in wild still fields
and moss climbing twisting bark
In transition
Moving belonging and body to
new forest dwelling
It’s not easy, there is
no air-conditioning, biting mosquitoes,
tiny streams of hot water for bathing
But something of this stillness --
Arriving in tiny hints of gratitude
In choosing to stay, not yet running
Of the river singing into the night
the bell echoing after morning sit
five bodies together in harmony
Something here is
more than enough
for happiness.
River walking
One lazy monday
Dipping limbs into river
baptism by sweet shocking cold
Greeting wiry insect neighbors
springing past my
floating torso
Strawberry patch
Strawberries
burrowing in un-barren soil
Bursting braless in fertile beauty
Believe me kneel down to
Taste me, beckoning to the
Breakfasting boy basking in
the butterfly’s bounty
